STAAR commission votes on final recommendations

Date Posted: 7/29/2016 | Author: Monty Exter
The Texas Commission on Next Generation Assessments and Accountability (TCONGAA) convened in Austin for its final meeting this week on July 27. The Commission discussed and amended draft recommendations, prepared by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) based on prior commission meetings, before ultimately adopting the recommendations as amended. The draft recommendations can be viewed on TEA’s website here. While there were some significant amendments, most of the recommendations adopted by the Commission are substantially similar to the draft document. We will report on the final recommendations as soon as they are released. Until then, you can see the archived video of the committee’s discussion of the draft document here.
