ATPE in Washington DC for NCLB reauthorization hearing

A team of ATPE state officers and lobbyists joined ATPE's federal lobbyists in Washington D.C. this week to help advance ATPE's legislative priorities with Texas' congressional delegation. On today's schedule is a hearing of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee during which the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), more commonly known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), will be discussed. The hearing will center on the Improving America's Schools Act, authored by committee chairman Sen. Tom Harkin (D–Iowa) You can watch live video of the hearing here.
