The House Public Education Committee is scheduled to meet today at 2 p.m. Several bills are on the docket, including House Bill (HB) 210 by Rep. Marisa Marquez (D–El Paso), which deals with the Commissioner of Education’s authority to issue subpoenas, and HB 422 by Rep. John Davis (R–Houston), which deals with graduation requirements. View the official hearing posting. Special note: The House adjourned today in the name of Travis Sampley, the son of long-time Humble ATPE volunteer leader Gayle Sampley. Travis worked as a House staffer until his death at age 32 last year. The House passed a memorial resolution in his honor earlier today.
